A collection of chamber works, written over a 30 year period by one of Australia's finest composers, Nigel Butterley. Included is the famous short work for recorder and harpsichord "The White-throated Warbler" in its first recording on CD. Veteran tenor Gerald English is also featured in two short song cycles. Butterley is well-known for his choral writing, and this CD includes two works, the early "The True Samaritan" sung by the Contemporary Singers conducted by Antony Walker, and "There came a Wind like a Bugle" sung by the Song Company conducted by Roland Peelman.
