"Die silberne Rose" by renowned Australian choreographer
Graeme Murphy was
commissioned by the
Bavarian State Ballet Company and
premiered by that company in December 2005 at the Munich Nationaltheater.
It features music by Carl Vine carefully selected by the composer from his
orchestral catalogue to accompany Murphy's re-interpretation of
the famous opera scenario, Der Rosenkavalier, by Hugo von Hoffmannsthal.
In 2010
The Australian Ballet
brought a new production of the work to the southern hemisphere, playing in
Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
