Benjamin Boren, born in Noblesville Idiana, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College, where he served for six years as an Associate Instructor for Piano and won the IU Travel Grant Competition twice. He is currently the Coordinator of Keyboard Studies, and Lecturer in Music Theory, at the California State University, Stanislaus.
He has been performing Vine's first sonata for many years, but prepared the Anne Landa Preludes, for the very first time, just for this recording. It is the first time that all three sonatas have been on the same disc, and only the second commercial recording ever made of the preludes.
